Denpasar– Earth hour is a worldwide campaign that inviting public to be involved in an action to make a better change to the Planet Earth.
On this Saturday, March 30th, 2019 at 08:30 pm local time, Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center is participating the world’s largest grassroots environmental movement, switch off the light in 60 minutes as part of the climate action.
The event started by a welcome speech by Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center representative, continued a presentation by Teddy Chrisprimanata Putra from Earth Hour Denpasar NGO about Earth Hour to the audience who were gathered on drop off lobby. The presentation was empowering the audience to take action on climate change. All the lights in the hotel building was switched off at 08:30 pm replaced by a 100 LED bulbs shaped into a figures of 60+ using a magnet as a power to convert the motion energy into electrical energy. There was also a fire dance performance with a percussion background. It showed some skills such as baton twirling, poi spinning, and ritual display of invulnerability to fire then it sprayed through the dancer’s mouth. The event continued by the video about Earth Hour which lasted 10 minutes. In addition, door prizes of 2 dining vouchers and 2 swimming pool vouchers also distributed to the lucky one. At the same time guest also enjoyed a coffee breaks that were prepared by kitchen team.
“People cause climate change and people suffer by it, but people also can solve it through the real climate action just like what we are doing now by switching off the lights for 60 minutes. A small action for brighter future that lies ahead if we act together. Thanks to the Earth Hour Denpasar team, due to a remarkable collaboration we can participate in creating a better future, especially for the Planet Earth where we live for, both for ourselves and for generations to come,” said Ady Suardi as Restaurant & Banquet Manager of Aston Denpasar Hotel & Convention Center on his opening speech.

And switch off is one of the applications of harmony with nature or environment. A small action done by us together will create a great future.
