BALI – In partnership with Bali Hotels Association and Ocean Conservancy, Meliá Bali participates in International Coastal Cleanup Day 2018 (9/15). Involving 47 participants from management and staff, a total of 54,2 kilograms of trash is succeed collected along the shores of Nusa Dua Beach.
Emphasizing a better understanding in removing the trash, all participants classify the garbage to get important data in the future. From this process, found that the most rubbish is coming from plastic bottles, plastic bag and cigarette butts, which mean all people must reduce plastic consumption.
On that occasion, General Manager Eduardo Perera Castro stated that Melia Bali will continually commit to global movement action in protecting the beaches, the waterways and the ocean trash free.
In addition to participating in many cleaning blitz activities, Melia Bali has a sustainability program to maintain the balance of the environment. Those are Be On With Nature, It’s Only One Straw, KM O, Garden Nursery, Eliminating Plastic Bottles, Kid’s Eco-Friendly Program.(*)
