Jamie’s Italian Kuta Beach is happy to reveal a number of dishes from its opening menu, created and tested by Jamie, his mentor and partner Gennaro Contaldo and their talented team of chefs. As always, everything on the menu is produce-driven, with a focus on using high quality ingredients throughout and going local whenever possible.
Start your meal off with some antipasti to share with the table, Italian family style. Try the beautiful Cauliflower & Parmesan Fritters, fried to a lovely golden hue and served with a fiery arrabbiata dip. Or feast on the signature Antipasti Plank – a wooden board loaded with an impressive spread of either cured meats or seasonal vegetables done in a variety of ways, accompanied by an array of cheeses, olives and pickles.
All pasta is made fresh on-site every day with the best Italian flour, so that dishes such as Jamie’s favourite Prawn Linguine with tomatoes, chilli & rocket and Truffle Tagliatelle with foraged black truffles, butter, Parmesan & nutmeg, all taste absolutely fantastic.
The Bali outpost is also the first Jamie’s Italian in Asia to see chefs making deliciously-topped pizzas, done to order and servedstraight out of the oven. Favourites include the mouth-watering Funghi with roasted mushrooms, smoked mozzarella, charred onion & thyme and the Italian Hot topped with artisanal salami, spicy meatballs, jalapeño chillies & mozzarella.
Diners can expect mains that are unmistakably “Jamie”, simple but with punchy, bold flavours – whether it’s lighter dishes such as the Whole Fish Acqua Pazza with olives, garlic, capers & the sweetest baby plum tomatoes or comfort food like the chargrilled 30-Day Matured Prime Sirloin with wild mushrooms, peppery endives & funky chips or the Burger Italiano with melted fontina cheese, sweet tomato salsa, mortadella & crispy fried onions.
In charge of maintaining the high quality you’d expect from a Jamie Oliver restaurant is Head Chef Alex Barman. Hailing from Wales, UK, he has been with Jamie’s Italian for six years, and is hugely passionate about the brand’s ethos of making fresh food prepared from scratch available for the masses. Having worked in the kitchen since he was 16, his wealth of experience belies his tender young age of 27, and until recently he led the kitchen brigade in the highly successful Jamie’s Italian VivoCity in Singapore. Alex is looking forward to inspiring his team and working with gorgeous Balinese ingredients like fresh local fish.
