About Tonic day spa and botanicals

When you step into the building, the cooling colour palate will provide customers with an instant refuge from the searing Bali heat. Pink, green and blue pantones instantly transport you to Palm Springs whilst the friendly Balinese staff will remind you of the island paradise they call home.

The exquisite turquoise green terrazzo flooring throughout is a stroke of genius as it not only emulates the blue green waters that surround Bali it is also cooling under foot. And it’s environmentally sustainable to boot, consisting of recycled crushed Bintang beer bottles. Ten out of ten Tonic.

The furniture has all been custom made and designed for maximum comfort and beauty. Soft lighting throughout creates a calming ambience with a little wow factor in the second story void. There eleven orbital spheres hang suspended from a glass ceiling reflecting light onto rose gold and matt white adjustable leaves.

Vibrant pink flamingos handcrafted from solid teak adorn a lily filled water feature to the rear of the premises creating a sense of walking on water for customers as they are lead to their treatment room.

Tonic day spa and botanicals offers numerous massage treatments from Balinese relaxation to deep tissue therapy and reflexology. Facials and body scrubs are also on offer as well as a plethora of manicure and pedicure treatments.

All treatment rooms are separately air-conditioned, private and self-contained. Tropical motifs on the walls add that “je ne sais quoi” to an already unique feel. Each room has a private shower (2 showers in couple’s rooms). There are 4 individual treatment rooms, 4 couple’s rooms and 2 triple rooms (for those girlfriend group getaways). The ground floor couples rooms also have deep custom made terrazzo baths with an indoor/outdoor garden.

Upon arrival guests are treated to Tonic’s in house prepared welcome drink of pineapple, ginger, lemongrass and mint (served in a quirky rose gold shaped pineapple cup). Following their treatment guests can enjoy a freshly brewed cup of calming herbal tea of lemongrass, pandan and cardamom locally made in Ubud. The tea is also sold both in loose leaf and teabag varieties for guests to enjoy again and again after their day spa experience. For those who want to indulge in something stronger Tonic offers a signature cocktail of vodka, guava and lime.

The spa uses both locally sourced botanical products exclusively made for its brand and Australian made products such as the socially aware brand Thankyou. So customers can purchase nasty free products to use on their holiday or take home with them. Tonic’s signature massage oil containing essential oils such as lavender, bergamot, grapefruit, basil and rosemary is used in all treatments and is available for after treatment sale.
