DENPASAR – Deputy Governor of Bali Tjokorda Oka Ardhana Sukawati accompanied Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly and Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno Marsudi and Deputy Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) RI Angela Tanoesudibjo to directly observe the condition of the area Ubud tour on Monday (10/8/2020) afternoon.
This visit was the first visit after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic which also had a major impact on the tourism sector in Bali. After having lunch together, the Minister of Law and Human Rights and the Minister of Foreign Affairs accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Bali immediately visited the Ubud Art Market and continued by visiting Ubud Palace.
The Deputy Governor of Bali, who was met on the sidelines of the visit, said that the two ministers really wanted to see first hand the real conditions on the ground, how the impact of Covid-19 had a major influence on the tourism sector which had been Bali’s prima donna. “Mr and Mrs minister also want to see how the readiness of health protocols in tourist areas, in villages in Bali.
Astungkara, he gave his appreciation because it seems that the implementation of our health protocols is very good, “said this Chief Executive of Puri Ubud. This health protocol is stated as an absolute requirement for opening tours. The man who is familiarly called Cok Ace also said that the central government really supports and appreciates the efforts carried out by the Bali provincial government in carrying out culture-based tourism, which has been inherited from its predecessors.
“I ask that the thoughts of our predecessors, aspects of cultural tourism in Bali can be maintained together, especially now that there is a regional regulation protecting this, issued by the Governor. (Cultural tourism, red) This is our very valuable heritage, ”concluded Deputy Governor Cok Ace while referring to the Regulation No. 5/2020 which was just released last Saturday (8/8/2020), which regulates the implementation of Balinese cultural tourism.
As previously reported, the door to Bali tourism for domestic tourists has been opened in a limited and gradual manner on July 31, 2020, after previously the tourist area was opened to local Balinese residents. The plan is that on September 11, 2020, stage 3 tourist gates or international tourist gates will be reopened.
However, the opening of the door to international tourism still looks at the conditions and dynamics that occur in the field, especially the development of the Covid-19 case and the discipline of implementing health protocols, especially in tourist areas and their supporters. ***
