SEMINAR WITH THE NEW COLOMBO PLAN AUSTRALIA ON WASTE MANAGEMENT AND RENEWABLE ENERGY

LOMBOK  – the Australian Consulate-General in Bali held a seminar with lecturers and students from the New Colombo Plan Mobility Program (NCP) from Murdoch University, Australia. The seminar on waste management and renewable energy was aimed at sharing ideas, encouraging new and creative thinking, showcasing local solutions, and building partnerships to address the challenges of waste management and renewable energy in Australia and Indonesia.

The seminar was held at Pejanggik Hall, Hotel Santika Mataram, Lombok and featured panellists including Vice Governor of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Dr. Ir. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, Duncan Ward from the Classroom of Hope and Block Solutions, John Higson from Eco Regions and SIPOD and Andrew Sinclair from Geo Trash Management Lombok. A dynamic panel discussion was moderated by Consul for Economics, Politics and Public Diplomacy at the Australian Consulate-General in Bali, Amelia Ekkel.

“This seminar is well-timed given the clear interest from the Australian and Indonesian governments to cooperate on environmental challenges, especially throughout this G20 year,” said Australian Consul, Amelia Ekkel.

The Vice Governor of NTB, Dr. Ir. Hj. Sitti Rohmi Djalilah, gave a speech and officially opened the seminar with Consul Amelia Ekkel. The seminar was attended by around 100 participants from universities, NGOs, businesses and tourism associations in Lombok.***
