BALI – THEME “togetherness in supporting sustainable tourism” is very relevant as the embodiment of a strong, contemporary and synergistic association in driving the economy, maintaining culture and improving people’s welfare in Bali through the tourism sector.
After more than 2 years of being affected by the pandemic, Bali is stretching, market demand is starting to move and competition between tourist destination countries is getting tougher with the ease of travel regulations.
“It’s time to strengthen synergy, collaboration to increase tourist visits,” said the Chairperson of the ASITA Bali DPD for the 2021-2026 period, Putu Winastra, S.Sos in ASITA Bali DPD I Regional Meeting, Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Prime Plaza Sanur.
RAKERDA I, DPD ASITA Bali, management for the 2021-2026 period, was opened by the Kadisparda Bali representing the Governor of Bali. On this occasion the Chairperson of ASITA BALI DPD reminded that ASITA is actively participating with Bali tourism stakeholders, preparing for the needs of tourism service businesses when international entry points to Bali are opened. Provide suggestions and input related to regulations that are obstacles to the performance of tourism services, including the increase in fees for entering tourist objects, opening Visa on Arrival – so far 86 countries have received this service–. provide input on the simplification of e-visa requirements procedures.
The management for the 2021-2026 period, organizes learning spaces through the SAKIRA (tourism talk show) event -, carries out social actions – a superior work program resulting from MUSDA XII/2012. Continuing to hold the annual Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) program initiated by ASITA Bali is our important promotional tool on national and international platforms. Now as one of the most important Travex events in Indonesia, BBTF is supported by the Provincial Government of Bali, City Government, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The BBTF 2023 theme “Quality & Sustainable Tourism” highlights market expectations of quality and sustainable diversity of Indonesian cultural heritage.
“Optimistic that BBTF will become bigger and better,” said Putu Winastra.
ASITA, explained the Chairperson of ASITA, is optimistic that Bali will be able to reap the target of foreign tourist visits with the conveniences in place and the increasing transport capacity to Bali.
As is known, in 2023 the government is targeting Bali to reap 4.5 million foreign tourists. As part of the association’s performance, ASITA supports the Provincial Government’s program. Bali related to Regional Regulation No.1/2020 concerning tourist contributions, Governor Regulation no.28/2020 concerning Bali tourism management, Regional Regulation No.1/2028 concerning Balinese language, script and literature, Governor Regulation No.79/2018 concerning the use of Balinese traditional clothing.
On the other hand, ASITA asked for the support of the Provincial Government of Bali in revamping the Indian market trading system, PRC (China), protection of local travel agents and review of BPW business permits, law enforcement against law violators which have an impact on the reputation of the Bali tourism industry.***
