JOGJAKARTA – Just opened a few hours, the number of MSME transactions at the MSME Creative Economy exhibition and the 2023 ATF Culinary Festival has reached IDR 1.4 billion. This number is certain to continue to grow, considering that this exhibition has only been open for a few hours, and will continue to be open until February 5, 2023 along with the ATF 2023 event.
This number of transactions was informed by the Chairperson of DIY Dekranasda and wife of the Governor of DIY GKR Hemas at the opening of the 2023 ATF Indonesian Tourism Exhibition, MSMEs Creative Economy and Culinary Festival (Parekraf) on Thursday (02/02) at JEC, Bantul. The Parekraf exhibition was opened by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy’s Dharma Wanita Advisor and wife of the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Nur Asia Salahudin Uno. This exhibition accompanies the 2023 ASEAN Tourism Forum, where JEC is one of the venues for the ATF Travel Exchange (Travex).
GKR Hemas said, this exhibition was attended by 160 MSMEs, by prioritizing the free shipping program to help MSMEs market their products. Through SiBakul Jogja, MSME actors are given the convenience to distribute their products throughout the world.
“This ATF has had a tremendous impact. We can display handicrafts from Yogyakarta and all over Indonesia. Showing many MSME goods which have also given demonstrations. There are also transactions between countries, so this ATF can bring blessings to Jogja,” said GKR Hemas.
GKR Hemas said that many small industries or MSMEs throughout Indonesia played a major role in increasing this tourism. Creative MSMEs have always been the target of tourists to be able to get something that is unique to Jogja and unique to Indonesia. MSMEs contribute to economic growth of up to 1.8% in Indonesia, and can create 2 million jobs. The post-pandemic period is the right time for MSME Tourism to expand.
He hopes that this Parekraf Exhibition can generate real profits. But of course, after getting a profit, GKR Hemas appealed to keep moving to create new opportunities, keep working hard, and always come up with new creations and innovations.
“We must all keep moving forward, working together well, developing personal capacities, and facing 2023 with full confidence, without fear of a recession. I believe this year will be the opening year for better, more prosperous and happier times for all of us,” said GKR Hemas.
On this occasion, Nur Asia Salahudin Uno said that this ATF is a very important momentum to revive the Indonesian economy. Moreover, seeing the facts that show that the stretching of MSMEs in DIY is very good.
“If you look at today, there are 1.4 billion transactions. If it takes 5 days, it can be 5 times the 1.4 billion just from this exhibition. The hope is that the Indonesian economy will rise, yes, it is because of these MSMEs that they have started to stretch and tourism has begun to revive,” said Nur Asia.
According to him, Indonesia is a country with a fast recovery. This cannot be separated from the speed [of the movement in the creative industries] which continues to be encouraged. ATF 2023 for Nur Asia is a golden opportunity to promote and generate tourism and Indonesian MSMEs. “As for the transaction target, Mr (RI Minister for Creative and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno) knows better, my part is to invite everyone to shop and turn on MSMEs,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the DIY Regional Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) as well as the ATF 2023 Committee GKR Bendara explained, ATF 2023 is a prestigious event for tourism throughout ASEAN. This event is the gateway for Indonesia by prioritizing DIY by highlighting new destinations to be introduced and promoted.
ATF 2023 is packaged a little differently from other countries. In other countries there has never been B to C, only B to B or only buyers and sellers meet. The B to C concept was introduced for the first time in DIY. DIY encourages maximizing the economy to be able to develop.
“It is undeniable that tourism with SMEs and the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy have a very close correlation, so the presence of SMEs is what makes this special,” said GKR Bendara.
Not only at this time are MSMEs open to developing to foreign countries or exports, but he hopes that there will be a sustainable effect from this event. “For us, ATF is how we can promote MSMEs so that in the future they become new opportunities,” concluded GKR Bendara.***igo
