This celebration is also a historical moment for the Balinese community to commemorate life and pay respect to their ancestors.
Kuningan: Honoring the Ancestors
Kuningan Day is a day of worship to Sang Hyang Widi because Hindus believe that the gods (bhatara), accompanied by the ancestors (pitara), descend to the world only until noon. Therefore, ceremonies and prayers on Kuningan Day are performed only until noon. This day is celebrated 10 days after Galungan Day.
