BALI, ULTIMOPARADISO.COM – The Indonesian Logistics and Forwarders Association (ALFI/ILFA) together with the Federation of International Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) held the annual FIATA-RAP Meeting
2024 in Merusaka, Nusa Dua, Bali on 11-12 July 2024. This activity starts today, (Thursday, 11/7).
This was stated in a press conference held last night (Wednesday, 10/7) at Merusaka Hotel, Nusa Dua.
The event is planned to be opened by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma’ruf Amin who will provide direction regarding investment strategies and development of the logistics sector. A number of keynote speakers will also be present including Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Luhut B Panjaitan, Indonesian Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, President of FIATA Turgut Erkeskin – FIATA, General Chair of ALFI/ILFA Akbar Djohan, Chairman of FIATA-RAP 2024 Yukki N. Hanafi, and Chairman General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Arsjad Rasjid.
In the press conference it was also stated that in the FIATA – RAP 2024 panel discussion, a number of speakers would also attend, including the Deputy for Investment Planning, Ministry of Investment/BKPM, PT Pelindo (Persero), PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI), PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), to FIATA representatives.
This activity was also attended by representatives from 22 ALFI member countries, as well as more than 200 entrepreneurs
national and international will meet to explore new business potential, both through partnerships
strategic, investment, asset management, tax consulting, and adoption of technology that increases efficiency
operations and competitiveness.
The General Chair of ALFI/ILFA, Akbar Djohan, stated that solutions for efficient and sustainable logistics are an urgent need at this time.
“Investment in green technology and sustainable logistics solutions is no longer an option, but an urgent necessity. The use of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in supply chain management has demonstrated significant efficiencies, reducing operational costs by up to 20 percent and carbon emissions by up to 15 percent,” said Akbar Djohan.
The logistics industry in Indonesia, explained Akbar, is at a critical crossroads facing challenges
as well as hope. Geopolitical crises in Europe, Asia and North Africa, increasingly strict regulations, war
trade, and changes in market dynamics are challenges. On the other hand, there is a great opportunity to innovate and adapt to technological developments and changing industry trends.
Meanwhile, Chairman of FIATA RAP 2024, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, emphasized the importance of global collaboration in facing dynamic changes in the logistics market. “We are faced with significant challenges such as increasingly stringent regulations, trade wars and changing market dynamics. However, with collaboration between the government, industry players and the community, we can create an efficient and sustainable logistics ecosystem,” he said.
