BALI, ULTIMOPARADISO.COM – Commemorating the 79th Indonesian Independence Day, GWK Cultural Park celebrates the momentum with a series of lively events every year. This year, GWK Cultural Park is holding an event titled MERDEKAFEST 2024, in collaboration with Promoter Dipta Komunika.
MERDEKAFEST 2024 is a festival that combines cultural diversity, music and fashion in collaboration with Clothing Exhibition by Jaklcoth as a driver of the local fashion world in the country which has been at the forefront of giving birth to hundreds of big local brands in the country for 15 years. This Fashion Clothing is fully supported by SMESCO and KEMENKOP.
This event will take place from August 13 to August 17, 2024 with a series of events starting from Freedom to Create, Freedom to Music, Freedom to Run, Freedom to Work and Freedom to One Goal.
The Music Festival with the name Freedom to Music in collaboration between DIPTA KOMUNIKA, BRSF, and PALMY KREATIF presents Lolot, Joni Agung & Double T, Jangar, Berry Fun, Toni Q Rastafara, Hindia, Vierratale, The Adams, Lyodra, Oom Leo, Juicy Lucy, For Revange, Feel Koplo, SID and Slank and many more musicians who will perform and closed with a Spectacular Fireworks party. Like the celebration of Independence Day in general, MERDEKAFEST 2024 also presents various traditional games for visitors.
At the end of the event on August 17, 2024, there will be a Merdeka Berlari activity, namely a 5K Fun Run in collaboration with Asa Kreasi Interasia with the finish point at Plataran Patungan GWK. The event will continue with a Marching Band competition which aims to echo the spirit of togetherness and patriotism through art and music. This event will be attended by several marching bands from all over Indonesia, from the community level to educational institutions.

In addition to watching the performances of a number of famous musicians and artists, tickets include recreation in the GWK Area, including Balinese Cultural Arts performances from 11.00 – 19.00 WITA, and also free entry to ASANA Artseum.
As is known, Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Cultural Park is a cultural park tourism area of ± 60 ha located in Ungasan, Badung Regency, about 10-15 minutes from Ngurah Rai International Airport. Since 2012, under the management of PT Alam Sutera Realty Tbk, GWK has been present with various facility renovations. Improvements to facilities and infrastructure in the main area of GWK Cultural Park such as Plaza Wisnu, Lotus Pond, Festival Park, Amphitheater, Taman Indraloka, Tirta Agung and so on were carried out to improve visitor comfort.
In 2018, the GWK Statue, which is an icon of Indonesia, was inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Joko Widodo. The GWK Cultural Park area consists of several venues, including Plaza Wisnu, Lotus Pond, Festival Park, which has an area of up to 5,000 square meters and is often used as a venue for large national and international events. The amphitheater, which is a venue for arts and cultural performances, has a capacity of up to 500 seats.
As one of the 21st century tourism destinations, GWK is currently developing into a cultural park that presents various events including cultural performances, entertainment attractions, various works of sculpture and also unique limestone cliff landscape art.
