Pioneering a future of sustainable innovation, Nuanu accelerates its transition with electric vehicles and solar-powered energy systems to redefine urban living.
BALI, ULTIMOPARADISO.COM – Nuanu, a visionary creative city located onBali’s southwest coast, is leading a transformative shift away from fuel-based energy toembrace clean, sustainable alternatives. By adopting electric vehicles (EVs) and solar-poweredenergy systems, Nuanu is redefining eco-conscious urban living and setting a benchmark for
innovation-driven cities worldwide.
This ambitious transition is more than a sustainability pledge—it’s a commitment to creating a healthier, greener future. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, Nuanu has already made significant strides in reducing carbon emissions, including eliminating 901 kilograms of CO₂daily through its electric vehicle fleet, a contribution equivalent to planting 15,667 trees
annually.
Additionally, the solar panel installations in Phase 1 have cut 41,000 kilograms of CO₂ each year, underscoring Nuanu’s dedication to impactful and measurable environmental progress.
“Our ambition to become the city of the future is not just about technology,” said Lev Kroll, CEO of Nuanu. “It’s about discovering innovative solutions that align with our dedication to nature and progress. We are not only transitioning Nuanu to a fully electric city by 2027 but also aiming for all outgoing traffic from Nuanu to be electric-based by the same deadline. This is a shared journey, and we invite strategic partners to collaborate with us to expand our EV fleet and scale our solar infrastructure. Moreover, we are conducting critical research to explore the long-term viability and impact of electric transportation. We look forward to sharing these insights with government agencies and stakeholders, contributing meaningfully to the collectivemission of shaping Bali’s green future.”
Nuanu’s clean energy initiative builds on its previous commitments to preserve 70% of its land as green space and allocate 5% of all project revenue to the Nuanu Social Fund (NSF) for social and environmental transformation.
Nuanu’s Current Clean Energy Highlights:
● Electric Vehicles: The creative city operates 16 electric buses, 17 golf carts, and over 100 mopeds and bikes, transporting 2,200 daily travellers across its 44 hectares. This shift eliminates 901 kilograms of CO₂ daily and reduces noise pollution by 10-15 dB, creating a healthier urban environment.
● Solar Power: Phase 1 of Nuanu’s solar energy program, implemented at Odyssey Garden (Nuanu’s Headquarter spanning 4000SqM), generates 52.8 kWh of electricity annually, reducing CO₂ emissions by 41,000 kilograms. Phase 2 will see the installation of 321 additional panels across the Workshop area, Vertical Farms, and parking zones. Once complete, these expansions will achieve a total CO₂ reduction of 263,000 kilograms per year—equivalent to planting 12,141 trees.
● Green Coins Program: As part of its second phase, Nuanu will soon also introduce the “Nuanu Green Coins” program. Visitors arriving in electric vehicles will earn these coins redeemable for prizes and experiences, further encouraging eco-conscious habits and promoting sustainable travel.
● Strategic Partnerships and Research Initiatives: Nuanu is actively seeking partnerships with forward-thinking EV manufacturers to expand its fleet and infrastructure. The city has also launched a comprehensive research project to assess
how electric transportation can be made scalable and sustainable in urban settings. Findings will be shared with government agencies and industry stakeholders to contribute to Bali’s Net Zero Emissions vision for 2045.
By expanding its green infrastructure and supporting Bali’s environmental goals, Nuanu is taking meaningful steps toward a greener, healthier future. This initiative is an open invitation for collaborators to work together in building a fully electric, sustainable community.***
