BALI – As a step to anticipate high passenger traffic and maintain excellent service at the airport, PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali opened an Integrated Air Transport Post for Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023. This was stated by the General Manager of International Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai – Bali, Handy Heryudhitiawan on Monday (19/12).
“From 19 December 2022 to 3 January 2023, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali will again open an Integrated Air Transport Command Post. This is carried out in accordance with the Instruction of the Director General of Civil Aviation number: IR 2 of 13 December 2022 concerning Control of Air Transportation,” he said.
“The call for the opening of the Integrated Air Transport Command Post was led by Acting Head of Region IV Airport Authority, Ms. Dwi Lestari. As for the implementation later, the Integrated Air Transport Post for Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 will involve 1,600 employees of PT Angkasa Pura I I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali, “continued Handy.
Handy continued that during the 2022 Christmas and 2023 New Year periods, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport is expected to serve 827,779 domestic and international passengers. “This number has doubled compared to 2021, which only served 404,688 passengers. As for the peak flow of arrivals, we estimate it will occur on December 23 and 24 2022 and we estimate the peak flow of departures will occur on January 1 and 2 2023,” he said.
In addition, Handy also mentioned that currently there were requests for additional flights by airlines at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. “As of today, we have received 609 requests for additional flights by several airlines, with details of 596 of them domestic flights, and 13 additional international flights. Overall, the seat capacity of the additional flights is 114,171 seats, with 112,358 seats for domestic flights and 2,313 seats for international flights,” he explained.
“With the holding of an integrated post for the Christmas 2022 and New Year 2023 periods, we hope to be able to provide the best for service users.
